The average Ohio professional has been meaning to finish their estate plan for years before they finally act. Your spouse has been asking. You've closed the tab every time you've Googled it. This workshop is the loop closer.
What Ohio law does with your home, your retirement accounts, and your family if you do not have a plan, explained in plain language by an Ohio estate planning attorney.
Presented by Andrew C. Goodwin, Esq., Principal Attorney, Rhodium Law. Attorney Goodwin is a Harvard Law graduate with over a decade of legal experience.
"A professional is someone who invested in their craft, became genuinely good at it, and spent their career showing up at the highest level they could give."
You are not lazy, and you are not irresponsible. The legal system makes this confusing, intimidating, and slow. Most Ohio professionals close the tab because what is on the other side is jargon they do not understand and billing they cannot predict. This workshop fixes the first part of that.
The workshop is 60 minutes of teaching and a live Q&A. Attendees regularly ask: "If I decide I want you to build this plan for me, what does that look like?"
Here is the preview. The Ohio Professional's 45-Day Legacy Protection Blueprint is the engagement Rhodium Law offers to Ohio professionals who decide to move forward after attending the workshop. It is one flat fee, three working meetings with Attorney Goodwin, and a finished plan in 45 days or less from your Design Meeting.
Ohio probate generally runs about 3% to 7% of the estate value. For a $1 million estate, that typically means roughly $30,000 to $70,000 in executor fees, attorney fees, and court costs your family would pay, plus 6-12+ months of delay. A properly drafted and funded trust plan is designed to prevent that.
Rhodium Law engagements are flat-fee. You will know the total cost before we begin. You pay for a finished plan, not for billable hours.
Specific pricing for the Ohio Professional's 45-Day Legacy Protection Blueprint is discussed in your Vision Meeting after the workshop, based on your specific situation and the plan your family needs.
In about 17 minutes, Attorney Goodwin walks through what an estate plan actually is, what Ohio law does with your assets if you do not have one, the difference between a will and a trust, and what the 45-Day Blueprint looks like. It is the same ground we cover live, in plain English. You do not have to watch all of it to get value, but if you want the full picture before you register, start here.

Practice focus: Estate planning, business law, elder law, and real estate matters for Ohio professionals and their families.
I became an estate planning attorney precisely because I was forced to face a situation that I had no answers for. I was forced to face an unexpected gap between "we meant to plan for this" and "now we have to handle it without a plan". The lessons learned the hard way changed my path, and left me convicted that estate planning is too important to leave to chance for other Ohio families.
I spent well over fifteen years in IT before becoming an attorney. After graduating from law school, the plan was to focus on practice areas that leveraged my technical background, things like technology transactions and data privacy and security matters. The early years of my legal career were spent working for a large law firm and as in-house counsel to a global health system, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
Then, in the early days of the pandemic, I started to notice that things were changing with my mother's ability to remember things and take care of herself. I had already been through a dementia journey with my father, so I knew firsthand the cost of incapacity when the financial and medical decisions have not been made in advance. So I laid down my career goals and spent over five and a half years as her primary caregiver.
I struggled to find the right legal counsel for my family, and I learned estate planning and elder law the hard way, all while trying to hold a family together. I understand what keeps most of us from getting a plan in place, and I also know what happens when we fail to plan.
I was raised by a pastor and a teacher, in a household where service to others was the whole point. That is why Rhodium Law exists: the hardworking Ohio professionals who built this state deserve an attorney who treats their family the way I would want someone to treat my parents. When you engage Rhodium Law, you work directly with me for all three of your planning meetings. That is the operating model of this firm, and it is why my capacity is limited by design.
"I started hosting these workshops because I kept meeting Ohio families who were blindsided by probate, by nursing home costs, by a loved one passing without a will. The information that could have protected them was not complicated. They just never had anyone explain it in plain English."
Most of the Ohio professionals who attend have been meaning to finish their estate plan for three or more years. We know. The workshop is 60 minutes. By the end, you will have a clear picture of what Ohio law does with your assets, what your family may face without a plan, and what your options are. The open loop begins closing the moment you show up.
Nothing. It is a free, 60-minute live session with a Q&A at the end, taught by an Ohio estate planning attorney. If you decide afterward that you want to work with Rhodium Law, there is a clear path for that. If you decide to handle things yourself or use another attorney, you will still walk away with information that may help your family.
DIY online services are affordable, and for a genuinely simple situation they may work fine. But studies generally indicate that approximately 80% of do-it-yourself legal forms are completed incorrectly. That does not always mean catastrophically wrong: sometimes it is a signature in the wrong place, a witness requirement missed, or a trust that was drafted but never funded. The problem is your family finds out at the worst possible time, when a bank refuses to accept the document or the court requires a formal probate anyway. The workshop walks through exactly where DIY plans typically break under Ohio law.
Rhodium Law works on flat fees. You will know the total cost before any engagement begins. No meter running. No surprise invoices. We explain the flat-fee model during the workshop.
If you own a home, have a retirement account, or have people who depend on you, you have an estate, and it generally represents decades of work. Ohio does not care how many zeros are in your net worth; it takes the same cut either way. The workshop is written for exactly this audience: not the ultra-wealthy, but the Ohio professionals who built something real and want to protect it.
Andrew C. Goodwin is a Harvard Law graduate, a member of Wealth Counsel (a leading national estate planning membership organization), and spent more than fifteen years building systems in IT before law school, along with years as in-house counsel negotiating complex commercial agreements. He has also spent years as a primary caregiver for a family member, which means he knows what estate planning looks like from both sides of the conference table.
A will generally goes through probate, which in Ohio is public and typically takes 6 to 12 months, with that 3% to 7% cost. A trust is designed to bypass probate entirely: private, faster, no court, no frozen accounts. Most Ohio professionals we work with benefit from a revocable living trust paired with a pour-over will. We walk through this in detail during the workshop.
Joint ownership generally handles the first death. When the second spouse passes, the assets typically go through probate anyway. Joint ownership is a starting point, not a complete plan. We cover this in the workshop.
